To be honest I don't really like blogging. I would much rather have a conversation with you face to face. I am not a gifted writer. I struggle to accurately express my thoughts and feelings. I cannot do justice to what the Lord has done through this blog. But I know I have to write this blog. God told me to write this blog in Malawi and finally 6 months laters I am doing.

I love the word of God. It has transformed my life. The word of God is what sustains me and I cannot live with out it. It is more importnat than food and it is more important than water. Nothing that I could ever own will be more valuable than the word of God.

In Deuteronomy 8:3 is says man shall not live on bread alone but by every word that come from the mouth of God. We need it to live.

The men and women in Malawi understood the value of God's word. 9 out of every 10 people we would meet asked if we had an extra bible to give away. They didn't ask me for food. And they didn't ask me for water. Nor did they ask me for money. But they asked again and again for the word of God.

Most often only the pastor of a church was fortunate enough to have the word of God. One pastor even had his bible stolen while he was performing a funeral service. They are desperate for the WORD.

I was humbled. ANd I wanted to be like them. I wanted to hunger for the word of GOd as they did. I wanted to want the word of God more than food and water or anyting else in this world.

It is more importnat to read the word of God than to eat or drink. And we have to read the word daily. Heidi Baker says, "We cannot rely on yesterdays bread to sustain us today."

How can I follow God if I do not read his word?

In Hebrews 10:17 it say And faith come by hearing and hearing by the word of God…Without God's word I cannot have faith

And in Hebrews 11:6 it says it is IMPOSSIBLE to please GOd without faith

We must Read the Word of God and everyday
We have to consume the word of GOd and meditate on it. We have to absorb it.
We have to believe the word of God. What good does it do to know the word of God but not believe it?
We have to act on the word of God.

We have to live out the word of God. They are not just idle words, they are the life of a believer

If we do not read, consume, believe, and act on the Word of God, we will be ineffective for the Kingdom of God.

In Ephesians 6, Paul say the word of God is the sword of the spirit. It is the only offensive weapon we have against the enemy. How can you fight for the kingdom without a sword?

There is a war going on. It is not a war against flesh and blood but against principallities, against powers, agasinst the rules of darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places. Brothers and Sister we have to be in the word. Every single day. We need to hide it in our hearts. We need to memorize it and meditate on it. We have to make time.
