Thailand is Beautiful. Elephants, Tigers, Mangoes, Mountains, and beautiful smiles are just a few things which reflect the beauty of this land. Once more I have fallen in love.
It’s Womanstry month for us! No boys! And 10 beautiful women of God to live, love, and work with. We are working with Remember Nhu Asia this month and if you haven’t heard of this organization you need to check it out (RememberNhu.org)! The work that this organization does is absolutely remarkable. Their primary purpose is to prevent girls from ever entering the sex trade. Girls that are identified as high risk are then removed from their current living situation and placed into a stable environment, where food, shelter and love are given abundantly. Remember Nhu’s primary goal for these children is to provide for them the highest level of education that can be attained. They rescue these girls and give them a new life. It has been such an honor to witness the work that they are doing and the impact they are having on these precious lives.
Our typical day at Remember Nhu:
7:30 Wake up and Eat Breakfast with the girls
8:00 Get to work. Ironically, even though this month is womanstry, we get to work with our hands. Mixing cement, digging ditches, building walls, and doing some skillful work with a trowel.
12:00 Break for lunch
1:00 We get to hang out with the girls, Jesus time, etc.
5:00pm We go hard and do insanity
6:00pm Dinner
This month has been full of so many unexpected blessings:
Elephant show where we got to also ride the elephants
Getting to celebrate Song Kran (a three day water fight for the Thai New Year) with the people of Thailand
Learning about Prevention and the heart that these men and women have who are doing this work
Living life and learning from 10 of the most amazing women of God.
God is good and nothing will ever change that. I love you all so much and you on my heart and in my prayers.
