Last month, God gave me a vision about what to do for the rest of my life. It’s crazy and I’m so stoked!!
Hahaha, juuust kidding… Well, about the first part.
Though it seems like God has given specific visions like that to a lot of my friends and fellow Racers, it’s not quite my time yet. But I’m okay with it because God has revealed the next step, which is all I really need at this point! Plus, this means my life is an open slate right now, which is actually really cool and exciting! God has lots of plans for me, and I know that none of them will be boring.
Besides the fact that I would love to do full-time ministry and missions, I don’t have much specific direction on what to do for the rest of my life… which is partly why I’m heading to CGA this September!
CGA (Center for Global Action) is in Gainesville, GA, where Adventures in Missions is based, and it’s a 4-, 8-, or 12-month discipleship program with AIM for post-Racers. For now, I’m committing to 4 months, which I can later extend, but I’m just keeping my options open for 2014. I’ll be living in community (like the Race, but in America!) with post-Racers. I’ll take classes, get mentorship, figure out my next step in life, and practice my skills in an apprenticeship.
I’m hoping that this will be an appropriate transition for me after the Race because I know I need solid community and further direction. And I’ve been craving discipleship for a while now, so I’m looking forward to getting one-on-one mentorship and accountability.
I would love for you to join me in prayer as I approach the end of my Race! Prayers for endurance, strength, and confidence as I remain fully present in South Africa for month 11. Prayers for peace and energy as I prepare to come off the field and come back to family and friends before moving to Georgia. And prayers for my team, Daughters of Zion, as we continue to navigate the wilderness that is community/sisterhood.
Lastly, I would love for you to prayerfully consider supporting me with financial contributions. In order to participate in CGA, I need to raise support, as I did for the Race. The awesome thing is that because of my generous supporters and anonymous donors who kept giving long after my World Race account was full, I have about $1800 of overflow in my account! THANK YOU SO MUCH! Since CGA requires $600 of support per month, I already have three of my four (or potentially more) months covered! Not only so, but this overflow was actually something God really used to draw my attention to CGA and confirm my decision. This means that at this point, I only need to raise $600! While that’s no small amount, it somehow feels like nothing after fundraising for the Race and seeing how God always provides. I can’t wait for you to partner with me in this next leg of my journey!
