I’ve read on several Racers’ blogs that we should have no expectations for the Race. That the only expectation we should have is to have our expectations shattered.
Shattered for the better, I’m guessing, as is always the case with God. His ways are higher than ours!! 😀
But as of now, these are some of my expectations:
I expect for God to break me and re-make me, over and over and over again.
I expect to see atrocities that I’ve never even heard of before.
I expect to learn and practice desperation for Jesus.
I expect to be challenged in releasing my comforts and selfish desires.
I expect the power of PRAYER like never before.
I expect to witness God’s miracles!
I expect to fall more in love with His creation.
I expect to grow in intimate fellowship with my teammates (and probably get tired of each other!).
I expect physical illness at some point.
I expect to meet orphans, widows, slaves.
I expect to be physically exhausted.
I expect to worship the Lord in many, many languages and forms!
I expect to find joy in little things, including things I’ve never thought to find joy in.
I expect to be scared out of my wits.
I expect to laugh until my stomach hurts. A lot.
I expect to face spiritual warfare, to experience Satan’s presence but to see God’s powerful presence above that.
I expect to grow as a disciple of Christ and to help make more disciples of Christ.
I expect to eat things I didn’t even know were edible.
I expect to be very disappointed and pleasantly surprised.
I expect to be humbled and uplifted.
I expect the unexpected!!!
