50 things my team mates might or might not want to know about me.

50 Things about me…. well 51 it seems.
1. Some people call me short, but my feet touch the ground just like everyone else’s (Okay, I’m 4’11)… some call me their mini friend. 2. I love the idea of living out of a backpack for a year… I am pretty simple… we will see about that. 3. I like music… I have loads of random stuff but I am not a huge country fan although I live in Nash. The Lumineers and the Head and the Heart are my favs right now. 4. I played softball in high school. I was girly 😉 5. I was also a cheerleader… Our squad won Nationals in 2005.. it was on ESPN 6. One of my favorite quotes a friend said in college was “If you’re not weird, you’re boring” I like to live by that. 7. Although I love the outdoors, I am slow and clumsy when it comes to hiking. (I blame it on these short legs) 8. I am somewhat of a daredevil. I like the whole live a better story theme Donald Miller talks about. A good question I ask myself is, if I were in a character in a book, which route would I choose. I normally take that route. 9. I have been skydiving 10. I have been hang gliding 11. I have jumped off the back of a boat in the Caribbean with an oxygen mask…. A barracuda got in my face and scared the mess out of me. 12. I went white water rafting with my family 2 summers in a row… we found out my mom is not too outdoorsy. 13. I am not a huge fan of the ocean… but if I am choosing the better story then I normally get in anyways 14. I hiked in the Grand Canyon… about 4 miles down and 4 miles back up… we didn’t have a permit to stay the night 15. I hiked in Sedona for a day as well… it was beautiful 16. I went snow shoeing in the Rocky Mountain National Park 17. I hiked St. Mary’s Glacier… we made it to about twelve-five or so… we sat up there and danced to Fun. For like an hour… 18. I hate elevators. I have been stuck in them numerous times. Firefighters had to rescue us once. 19. I don’t like to brush my hair… you might think that is rather hippie of me until you read the next answer. 20. I floss my teeth like 2 times a day. Minimum once. 21. I have one kidney. God made me special. 22. I have spent 2 nights on the beach with no place to stay. We just slept in sleeping bags in the sand. It was AWESOME. Also we showered in the public showers… we had swim suits on. Our theme song was Ben Howard’s Old Pine. 23. My parents or family won’t be happy to see this but… I have hitchhiked before… but I was with a friend and we got in a jeep wrangler… not a White Van. 24. I have a super dry sense of humor. 25. I often talk in a monotone voice. Many can’t tell the difference between me joking or being serious. Has to do with my social awkwardness. 26. I am very open and honest. 27. I can make situations very awkward very fast. Not purposefully it just happens. 28. I like coffee. 29. I also drink water. No soda… but I hear that may be an issue in Africa. I may have to drink some of the Black Current Fanta people keep talking about. 30. I have been a vegetarian for over a year. I say that but I actually ate a bite of chicken a few weeks ago. Also a few days ago. Whoops. I was preparing for the fried crickets I heard I may be eating on the world race… not too excited about the “Mystery Meat” I keep hearing about. 31. I laugh at my own jokes. They are funny. 32. All of my trips turn into an adventure… I do better when I make no plans… if you really want to know ask about my Chicago trip or my Arizona trip. Both I ended up without a place to stay. My cousin rescued me in Chicago! 33. I am on a kickball team in Nashville… it is fun… 34. I like to run… it is my me time. 35. I like to run races… 5k’s and half marathons…. Although I haven’t run any races since around March. 36. I am a nurse. 37. I took gymnastics for like 8 years when I was younger. I blame my height on that… realistically my parents are short. 38. I wear glasses… I have contacts but glasses fit my personality better. 39. I love nail polish… I used to collect it in college… 40. Arrested Development is the funniest show that ever existed. It is brilliant. 41. I went to Ole Miss and was in a sorority…. So NOT me… I didn’t last too long or did I? I don’t really remember when I quit going. 42. I am most sad about leaving my friends in Nashville and my family in MS esp my nephew. He is 1. 43. I love meeting new people though, so I am über stoked about meeting the people I will race with. 44. I can get along with almost anyone 45. I can get moody… esp in the morning… I need my teeth brushed before anything. Also with little sleep or little food… hopefully I can get over this one. 46. I am one of 4 kids…. 3 girls and 1 boy. I am the 2nd. 47. I love nose rings but don’t have one…. I don’t think my fam would approve… We are southern. 48. My family is from MS and AR…. Southern to the max. 49. I could tie my tennis shoe before I was 3… I could also French braid… I counted to 1,000 when I was like 4…sounds like a prodigy in the making… but Nope. 50. I also like math… I can do it in my head quickly… with big numbers. I say that, but I haven’t taken math in like 4 yrs. 51. My first name is Amba… not Amber…. AMBA. It actually means compassionate or mother in Hindu…. well that is according to google.
