Thailand; home to luscious mountains, soft sand beaches, the comfiest Thai pants and the most joyful people.

Thailand; home to one of the largest child sex trafficking industries in the world.

For the month of February, I worked with an organization that helps to prevent children from being sold into slavery. Families who are struggling to put food on the table sometimes find themselves desperate enough for money that they are convinced to sell one of their children who then is trafficked into sex slavery. This is happening right now all over Thailand from Phuket in southernmost Thailand to Chiang Mai in the north. This is the hard truth and despair that my team and I found ourselves facing as we began our month.

But in the middle of despair there is always light and laughter and goodness. The organization we partnered with helps to prevent children from ever being sold by providing them a home when their parents or grandparents or aunts or uncles cannot. These families who can no longer support their child, are able to choose life and love and give them a better future. The homes for these kids provide them with plentiful meals, a thorough education and a family of brothers and sisters and home parents who will love and support them all their lives.

The video below is made by my beautiful talented teammate Andrea Dunn. Thailand was definitely a month full of joy, hope and Gods glory!
