Goodbyes. See you laters. I’ll miss yous. I’m learning that the race is full of these things. This month in particular has been flooded with these words. My whole squad has spent a month laughing, living and loving together in Los Guidos, Costa Rica. Our home was a place called the Finca. All forty of us slept in a gym where a feeding center run by the Christian Light Foundation is located. This feeding center provides one hot meal a day to hundreds of kids who live in the slums of Los Guido. We spent the month getting to know the families that come there, doing odd jobs around the center and just living in community. Tents were put up and halfway through, taken down, sleeping pads were mashed together, dinners were had with new Costa Rican friends, concrete was poured, children laughed, joy was shared. It was people loving people. It’s as simple as that.

Below is a video that my squadmate Brittany Gonzales created about our month here! Check it out and also check her blog at brittanygonzales.theworldrace.org

My next fundraising deadline is coming up on December 1st! I still need $2,600 in order to continue on this incredible journey. If you feel led to support me financially please click the support me link at the top of this page!

Thank you to all of you, my friends and family, for your prayers, well-wishes and love. I miss and love you all so very much. 🙂
