Recently I have been so overwhelmed with the small ways God
has blessed me. He has been so faithful to provide so much more than I need or
deserve. Here are a few ways He has answered prayers:

Water in Rama

In our small village in Galilee, the water only ran for two
hours in the middle of the night. During our last week there, the government
was supposed to shut off the water completely. My team and I filled EVERY
bucket, bowl, cup, even plastic bag with water in preparation. However, when
Sunday came the water was free-flowing and continued to flow for the rest of
the week!

Beautiful Views

For the past week, we have been staying in a retreat center
in southern Israel. Every morning I wake up to see the beautiful Negev Desert. Before
this we were in a small village nestled in the mountains, and yesterday I was
able to watch the sunset over the Mediterranean Sea in Tel Aviv. I have been so
fortunate to be immersed in God’s beautiful creation.

Blessings From Home!

Last night I had the privilege of meeting a group from my
church in Columbia. I was able to see familiar faces, receive so many hugs from
my church family, and eat the best dinner I have had in five months! They were
also nice enough to bring a care package from home complete with letters and
pictures, Reese’s Cups, and Swedish Fish!

These are only a few of the little ways God has blessed me
over the past few weeks. Being on the Race has taught me how many things in my “real
life” I take for granted. Too many days go by that I view the
small things I receive as things I deserve or have a right to. I do not view them as ways God has blessed me. Living out
of a backpack and on a tiny budget has made me learn that I am to rely on the
Lord to provide for me. I do not need to be concerned about worldly things,
only Him. Just as He provides for the birds and trees, He will give to me. I am
so thankful to serve a God who not only provides my basic needs, but has
abundantly showered me with so many simple blessings.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and
all these things will be given to you as well.
Matthew 6:33
