Today in Moldova was “Harvest Day,” a thanksgiving type
holiday. Our team, along with team Beautiful Feet, spent the morning in church
then to the pastor’s house for a feast. 40 of us gathered
around one table to eat. Sitting under the arch covered by grape vines, we
feasted on Moldovan traditions that were AMAZING! After topping it all off with
an awesome cake, the worship leader from the church began to sing. Everyone
around the table began to sing along while we Americans swayed and clapped.
Looking around at the remains of our feast and listening to our new friends
worship, I began to think that this must be a small glimpse of Heaven: the Body felloshipping and worshiping together. Each of us has a different story, and while we are separated by background, language, and culture, yet we were united in Christ. However,
in the presence of God there will be no language barrier.
Tears filled my eyes as I realized that I was leaving yet
another family, another community that is passionate about seeing their people
know Jesus. Looking at all the food they had given us and thinking of the
hospitality showered over us for the past 2 weeks, I was overwhelmed at the
thought of leaving, again. Tomorrow morning we board another train and are off
to meet a new ministry, new country, new contacts: loving and leaving.
