I work with children and reinforce kind manners, such as using “please” and “thank you”, etc. I find myself repeatedly asking the kids, “What do we say when ….?,” and most of the time they know the answer- it’s actually remembering to use those manners that can be harder sometimes, even as an adult. I realize that in the past that I have not sincerely given credit where credit is due and that is to God.
I’ve asked God to meet the financial needs and deadlines for this journey and I’ve learned two things about God and myself. First, I’ve learned and experienced that He is a giving God and can take care of anything and everything He so desires. He has it all under control and has a plan for how the big picture will come to be. [Philippians 4:4-7]
Second, I’ve also been reminded that he wants us to actively involve ourselves in pursuing the need. Money doesn’t grow on trees, nor has there ever been a forecast of coins and bills. Money isn’t just going to magically appear into my World Race account. I have to prepare the fields, spread the news, and think of ways and take action to find this money that God has in store for this trip. [Matthew 7:7-8]
Some of my fellow racers have already fully funds and I am so ecstatic for them. But I am more grateful for their ability to turn and praise God for going above and beyond and providing for their needs. I find it encouraging knowing that we will learn more about ourselves, grow as a family of believers and our relationships with Christ will grow deeper and stronger as we embark on the upcoming adventure.
To those who have supported me in any way shape or form I cannot express how grateful I am for your support. Whether you gave your time, thoughts, or have financially donated, I want to make sure that you know that I am thankful for any kind of support you have provided. I want to encourage you to continue supporting me, especially as this trip comes into action. Pray that God will prepare the hearts of the racers, loved-ones, and those who we will be interacting with throughout the trip. Thank you again for everything, and I pray that you are blessed out of your socks by the one, true provider, Jehovah Jireh.
Philippians 4:4-7- 4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Matthew 7: 7-8- 7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
