Family members aren’t only the ones that you are related to by blood, they also includes those people in your lives that will be there when you need them the most. I have been truly blessed with a wonderful squad family that whenever any of us need anything they are there to do anything to help from near or far. I can only imagine how “family-like” we will be face to face in the field.
The best way to describe my new family is like a deck of cards, it would not be complete if one was missing. Each of us has our own unique background, personality and talents that when put together create a stronger team. The only way to realize this is by experiencing life together, at high and low points, whether we were able to sleep in our own tent with our belongings or put on a bus, with our packs, for the night. We challenged, encouraged (and possibly even annoyed) each other sometimes but we are still a family. The community that formed was authentic, raw and has created a safe place where everyone is accepted for who they truly are troubles and all.
As a family, we work together, stand up for each other and help each other out. There are still some family members in need of financial support in order to continue this journey, listed below. I'd like to encourage you to join us in prayer and consider financially partnering with some squad mates who need more financial support in order to leave with the squad on July 4.
The deadline is June 19, 6 days away, but it takes 2-3 business days for the system to process donations. Therefore the last day to donate is tomorrow, Friday, June 14. Each racer is required to have $6,500 in their account by the 19th.
