The other day I set my mind to changing the oil in my car- so in order to approach this task I had to first purchase the supplies needed. After getting everything necessary, pan, wrench, towel, funnel, oil and soap and the learning via the internet I figured it would be an easy task to tackle. However executing the task proved to be a little more difficult. I found the drain plug and filter easy and they were easy to reach but the nut was too tight to unscrew. As stubborn as I am I refused to give up after an afternoon of trying and reattempted the task with the help of my dad the next day. Much to my dismay we realized that we weren’t strong enough to unscrew the nut. I ended up taking it to the professionals for them to deal with. Although the drain plug won this time, I will not give up on changing my oil.
Just as mechanics can work their magic changing the oil much better than I can, the most successful life is impossible without God. I’ve come to realize throughout my life and reading other racer’s blogs that the outcome is much better when God is in the equation. My life is better when there is a set morning routine- run/workout, clean-up, quiet time and breakfast. When I started to stray from the schedule I could tell a difference in my mood that day. It’s the small things in life that can make the biggest impact- but God is not small and doesn’t want to be pushed in the corner and relationship be tended to when you find the time.
The WR is no small task and I know that in order to be successful that I need to focus the attention on God and rely on Him for providing the funds and prepping my heart and the hearts of other racers as well as the people we come in contact with. He always provides, according to His timing. If you feel led to be a financial partner I’d be very grateful. If not, I’d still like for you to consider being a prayer partner for myself, my team and the lives will be changed- with God, nothing is impossible. One of the most helpful things to pray for is for God to prepare our hearts and minds for what is to come.
“Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God” -2 Corinthians 3:5
“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness” 2 Peter 1:3
