Lauren, I’ve really enjoyed reading your blogs and especially

watching your videos since my daughter has been on this wonderful

journey with you. My question is: What is the most important thing

God has taught you on the World Race?

for me personally he taught me a lot about my identity, worth and authority

in Christ, people always coin the term and say “you should find your worth

and identity in Christ” and before the race i knew that i think?

or maybe i had just heard it a lot?? so i thought i knew it.. but the Lord

really took me down a road and showed me all the things i was finding

my worth and identity in that weren’t him and he opened my eyes to

the freedom he had for me.. a lot of trust was built on my side of the

relationship during the first four months of the race.. there were lots of

trade in’s so to speak that weren’t easy but God was promising me

something greater, COMPLETE FREEDOM* and i learned how to

throw off the things that the world had labeled me with, the things

people had spoken over me, and the condemnation the enemy can so

easily clothe me in.. he taught me how to fight with his truth and his word.

and from more of a world point of view he taught me a lot about human

need and allowed me to really feel what the people where feeling. i have

never in my life cried so hard for people, i have never met heart ache

like i have on the race.. and he opened the doors to learning about intercession..

he also showed me month after month that people groups get saved and

nations are completely transformed by the ONE! one person stepping out

in obedience, one person trusting, one person believing, one person relying

on God.. i have had so many overwhelming moments on the race where

i have thrown my hands up in the air and said WHATS THE POINT?

what is my little prayer gonna do? what is this one plate of food gonna help?

and believe me its easy to see all thats around you and believe things will

never change, that you cant change a culture, you cant change a government,

that you cant change hundreds of years of traditions.. but again and again i

met and lived with the people who are in the category of the ONE and it has

changed my life.

Who is the one person on the race that you couldn’t live without?

as much as i have loved all my boy squamates i have to say

that i couldnt have gotten through this year without my fugee and fuego sista’s : )

if you were to go to any of the countries that you served in

this year for long term ministry which one would it be?

i would go back to these four places without any hesitations..

– india

– mozambique

– thailand

– cambodia

you miss me and ryan more than anyone, Right?

YEA OF COURSE*! and jeff i believe congratulations

are in order for you and morgan*!! woohooo !!!!

What was the strangest thing you ate and did you like it?

i have eaten some of the most random things this year, the

strangest has got to be when we ate this jelly curdled rice

corn concoction of a dessert.. and no i didn’t like it!!! the sickest

thing i have ever witnessed being eaten was when we were in

cambodia and my teammates vinny, kk, and emma ate the

family dog, lisa.. it was horrific and scarred me.

You’ve been gone 11 months, away from the comforts

of home, family and friends.. you’ve experienced so much

on this journey – what would you like for us to know about

this great big world of ours?

that the numbers and statistics you read about are real

people, with real hurts and pains… that their not just a

number getting lost in an even bigger group of numbers..

that even the poorest people you have seen in america are

rich compared to people around the world.. that a smile

TRULY is the universal language.. that thailand has some

of the most amazing fruit my mouth has ever experienced..

that people think if they could just get to america all their

problems would be over like its the promise land or something..

that the harvest really is ready, and the workers really are few…

That God is doing big things overseas, people are being healed,

hundreds and thousands are believing in Jesus, that we are all

so so so similar regardless of background, economic status or

cultural traditions, that the world really is so small, that most of

the cultures i visited value family time more than anything else,

that although many are poor their joy is overflowing, that plane

rides oversea’s are way better than in the US! there is free food,

drinks, ice cream, your own personal tv !! they spoil you and its

awesome : ) thats all i got off the top of my head !

As someone who is in month 11, what would you tell people

about why they should go on The World Race?

Go on the world race if you desire is to see God glorified above all

else, to really learn what it looks like to die to self EVERY SINGLE

DAY, to gain a level of freedom you never thought attainable, to live

out what TRUE and BIBLICAL community looks like, to color outside

the lines in your RELATIONSHIP and INTIMACY with the savior, to

get a year away from what everybody tells you is important and

instead find out for yourself what’s important, to get an opportunity

to have your eyes opened to the realities of this world because

keeping up with the kardashians, the bachelor, and MTV’s jersey

Shore aren’t it ( no judgement i can only name them because i have

watched them!) GO in response to the great commission

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing

them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the

Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have

commanded you.” Go on the world race to serve your fellow

brothers and sisters overseas, to offer them a little break from a

day in and day out life of ministry, to pour into them, encouragement

them, and give them hope so they can get renewed and filled back up,

GO ON THE WORLD RACE TO BRING THE LOVE OF JESUS TO

PEOPLE!!!! on earth as it is in heaven : ) its about bringing the KINGDOM*!!!!!!!

Would you do it all again?  Why or why not?

it has been the best and worst year of my life.. i have never

laughed and cried so much in my life.. it has been a pressure cooker !!!!!

and it has been so tough at times.. pictures can be deceiving..  i post

blogs about crazy travel days full of planes, trains, tok tok’s,

subways and the adventurous nights i’ve spent sleeping on the

airport floor with pepper spray in my hands wearing clothes that

haven’t been washed in days or the times i’ve cried myself to sleep

under a mosquito net in 100 degree weather… and bucket showers..

i mean seriously.. these are all things that make for fun blogs but its

your life for the year and its not always easy.. now with that said i

would take all the hard little annoyances or tough seasons this year

has brought all over again in exchange for the friends i have made,

the hugs and smiles i have received, the prayers that we’ve prayed,

the encouragement i offered and received, the life spoken over me

and the freedom i have gained, the things i have witnessed and seen

with my very eyes, the orphans i have held, the sick that have been

healed, the sermons that were preached, the lost that were saved,

the worship that was sung, the patience that was learned, the hope

that was spread, the LOVE that was shared, and the testimonies told..

so would i do it all again? IN A HEARTBEAT*!!!

i have come across so many organizations such as

yours and what i find is that many are making money in
GODS name so what makes your organization so different from others?

your absolutely right i have seen that too, with adventures in

mission every single person on staff is support raising.. so what

that means is you have people who’s mission field so to speak is

the AIM office in georgia. they do all the behind the scene work

to enable us, the world race, to have smooth logistics and solid

contacts out here in the middle of nowhere nepal or wherever !

and none of them receive a paycheck! there is no pay day friday’s

just a bunch of people living by faith doing what they feel God

has called them to do..  and as for all the racers we are all support

raise too! so none of the money we raise is pocketed in anyway..

none of it even touches our hands. our food budget is 3 dollars a

day ! we are penny pinching to say the least! i hope this helps!!!

If you could bring one lesson/teaching/epiphany that

you’ve learned on the trip back and tell us all, what would it be?

ONE LESSON hmmmm? this one is tough, but it would have

to be the importance of intimacy with the Father, and how

crucial it is for us to tap into the presence of the Lord and

have that time with him .. it is in his presence that we find

our identities, freedom, peace, and can find complete rest

and give all our worries, anxieties, and burdens to him. It is

there in his presence you can hear and feel God’s heart, for you,

for his children, for the sick, for the hurting, for the nations, and for his kingdom.

What are you MOST excited about doing in the next

14 days? (oh my gosh, it’s 14 days!!!!!!

getting my legs waxed LOL and celebrating with my

teammates at our final debrief !!

Living out of a backpack, with the bare essentials – What is

something that you realized on this trip that you CAN live

without, and what is something you realized you CANNOT live without?

i learned i can live without a lot of things.. this year was

stretching to say the least, i really do feel so stripped from

everything.. i have lost/broken/ruined and or left something

of great importance many a time this year and im still alive..

with that said if i ever had to live without these items i would

probably loose my cool a lot more than i do : )

toothbrush and toothpaste

ipod

journal

and i really dont ever wanna live without a shower
head again, i mean i could do it, but i just dont want too*!!
they really are the greatest invention ever*!!!!!!

Who have you met that has impacted you the most?

(excluding your team and other world race people)

The Wilcox’s!!  they were a missionary family living in

mozambique africa! they have 6 children and they taught

me so much about trusting and living by faith. i have never

met people more in tune with the Sprit and obedient to the

Lord. When i think back on my month with them the one

thing that sticks out the most is how real and genuine

their joy was in the lord, and how desperately in love

they were with the Father. Another would be Corine a

women who sold everything.. cashed in her savings..

kissed her nice little job goodbye.. got on a plane..

landed in swaziland and started the hope rises organiazation!!

she was and is such an inspiration and i learned so much

from her testimony and just living and serving with her for the month!

When exactly will you be home? i land in cali on the 19th and fly

into dallas on the 23rd 🙂

And I assume your flying in to Dallas? your correct : )

And I want to respect your family time when you get back,

BUT how soon can I come over once you’re here?? haha facebook me : )

How long was it before you washed your hair in that

country where you said you were going to go a whole

month before you washed your hair?

i went 15 days and it was the hardest/nastiest/sickest

challenge i ever gave myself

on the race.. it

was in cambodia where we had

no a/c, no running water, we were

constantly sweating, it was 100 degrees

outside or so it felt.. it was a hot mess !!

Of all the different kinds of foods you experienced

throughout your whole mission………what was the

best and what was the worst?

BEST:INDIAN buttered chicken with garlic naan, NEPALI chipati,

and CAMBODIAN everything!! oh and the fruit in THAILAND!!!!

WORST: african pup wins hands down everytime.. i also never

again in my life want to eat rice.. IM OVER IT!!

What was your least favorite thing about the world race? the brutal travel days

How many days did you go without showers? 7 days was the longest i ever went some people went as long as 12

Did you ever feel like giving up? yes all the time

When can I come and bug you?!?! lets say after the new year???!

Which Country will have the most lasting impact on your life?

the entire continent of asia, but specifically INDIA!!

BE HOME BEFORE YA KNOW IT !!! THANKS FOR ALL THE QUESTIONS*!!!
