if i had a car swaziland would officially be in my rear view mirror, like i wrote in my previous blog leaving is hard.. and let me tell you its month 6 on the race and to be perfectly honest im tired of doing it, im tired of living life with amazing people and see God work in them and then have to just pack up and bounce.. let me say its changing my view of short term missions but thats not what this blog is about! its about how God has been showing up in the little/BIGGG things and i wanted to share… so we are in mozambique! yay !!! its been an adventure to say the least! swaziland was so peaceful everyone so helpful and from the couple days i have had in maputo its been a bit of a different welcome! the best way i can explain this place is to call it black india.. because it feels just the same.. markets markets and more markets.. trash all along the streets and this weird concoction of dirt and sand mix everywhere.. ohhhh and no one speaks english.. everyone here speaks portuguese.. anyways so yesterday steve, kacie, and i drove into town on a koombi to buy bus tickets for our teams.. we didnt have a clue where we were going and not one person spoke a bit of english so we were just like ok lets rock with this and see what happens (kinda the motto you adopt on the race) and minutes later a lady gets on the bus and she SPEAKS PERFECT ENGLISH! Praise God.. this women was such a God send!! she not only told us what stop to get off at she walked us to the bus station!!!!!!! can you believe it??? we were desperate and BOOOM divine appointment !! so after we got to the bus station and got our tickets we were like great now we gotta figure out how to get home.. we all looked at each other and were all thinking the same thing.. OH CRAP WE FORGOT TO GET AN ADDRESS.. kacie then looks in her purse and finds the restaurant menu we had all eaten at before we left THAT just so happened to be maybe 2 kilometers away from the church we were staying at.. and there written in small black font was an address that would get us home! can i get a HALLELUJAH! so taxi man drops us off and as we are walking the sun was setting and we knew we were pushing it.. you do not want to be wandering around in mozambique when the sun goes down.. and we were kinda struggling.. we knew the church was close but we also knew we were about a 15 minute walk away and you can make one wrong turn and ouch your stuck LOST.. so i just started praying out loud.. we needed someone who knew english and we needed someone who knew where the church was.. now let me tell you we had been asking people for help all day long and one after another we got i dont speak english.. so you can imagine our surprise when no more than 2 minutes later A WHITE JOGGER comes running around the conner.. and guess what? he spoke perfect english and knew exactly where the church was.. WHAT???????? we were all giddy with excitement and praise because God showed up all through out our day in big ways.. so for all of you who have been praying for favor and safety and protection- thank you.. your changing the way our days play out over here : ) all i can say is PRAISE GOD!!!!!
