I’ve been learning what it means to just be, abiding in the palm of my Papa’s hand. While I’m still discovering what exactly this means, He’s strengthening and encouraging me through His Word. I’ve been learning to abide, by delving into His Word. I know that He desires to guide me into all truth, the whole and full truth.

“If you abide in My Word [hold fast to My teachings and live in accordance with them,] you are truly my disciples. And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free,” John 8:31-32.

I’ve read the Bible through several times, but how many times I’ve read it and missed so much? How many times have I failed to see the blessing in having this priceless gift before me?  How many times times have I read scripture and said, “That’s some goodness right there,” and yet failed to live in accordance to that truth?

“The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you,” Matthew 4:24

I’m asking you to ask yourself, how many times you’ve read the Bible? Have you recognized the blessing of the Bible, this priceless gift?  How many times times have you read scripture and said, “That’s some goodness right there,” and yet failed to live in accordance to that truth?

All this to say, I have been reading through Genesis for the last month or so, soaking it in a chapter at a time, desiring and praying to understand it. Asking God to give me new eyes to see and new ears to hear as I read His Word. Like, I said, I’ve read through the Bible before, but this time God’s been teaching me to abide in Him and that’s happening with abiding in His Word. Like the song says, “It’s going to be wild, it’s gonna be great.”
