This week, I helped out at our church’s Vacation Bible School for two days, helping in the gaps, which included changing diapers and prepping snacks (hands were washed between activities. I loved seeing the kids singing songs of God’s amazing love for each and everyone of us. God poured out on that place and kids were praising God to the heavens. I heard about “Peter’s” visit to VBS during story time and how he shared his struggle after denying Christ and wondered if God could forgive and ever love him again. One little dude, stood up and told “Peter”, “God’s love is so big, we can all fit inside it! Oh the heart of a child. The honesty that crosses their lips and they know the unconditional love of our Father in Heaven. I pray for the children I will encounter, some who have never even heard the name of God and others that have. I pray uses to me to express His love for them, through the words that I say, the hugs that I give, or even the feet that I wash.

I also got to see 2 amazing beach sunsets, one in San Clemente and the other in Laguna Beach. This has got to be one of my most favorite things in the whole world, the sun and the beach and with people I love. How amazing our God is, in the creation of the sun and the clouds and how the light reflects off the ocean. How it all comes together and makes that incredible beauty. He took such care and love in that, how much more time He spent on the creation of man. Oh, how He loves us.

Girls night out times 3 this week: What do you get with a night with frozen yogurt, pizza, and of course your latest vampire movie, Eclipse? A full tummy and a night of girl talk interspersed throughout the movie, that was paused too many times to finish. It was a simply amazing night I spent with 3 amazing ladies. An evening at Disneyland, with two beautiful ladies and one hilarious little boy, brought about my first time at the new Fantasmic, that’s not so new anymore anymore and a perfect seat for the fireworks. It even included a ride on my favorites, Pirates of the Caribbean and Thunder Mountain. Final girls night was a trip to the mall and a visit to the lake with 2 incredible ladies, where we enjoyed time together in conversation and fellowship. These amazing, beautiful, incredible women are women I will miss dearly, but God’s in the midst of each of our relationships. Life will go on, but our relationships will pick up, like I’d never left. Our relationships will be that much stronger, because we have grown in all that God is calling each one of them to.

Family night for our Homegroup was definitely a highlight of the week. Barbeque, fellowship, worship and prayer. I don’t know where I would be without each individual. God has used them to teach me, shape me, encourage me, strengthen me, and help me walk out in faith into all God’s calling me to. As I sit here, at 35,000 feet, I can feel their hands reaching out, praying for me, as well as the prayers of so many others. It’s so powerful. It’s overwhelming.

I know now, that no matter how hard it was leaving and saying “See you laters” rather than goodbye, because it’s not. It’s only the beginning of the story. Each one of you from home is coming with me, your words, your prayers, your thoughts, your encouragement. It is with you that lives will be impacted, mine included. I want to thank you for all you have done, are doing, and will continue to do. I’ve been called to go and I thank you for sending me out, showered in prayer and encouragement. God is using you and this would not be possible without you and all you have blessed me with.  Words can not express how much I am blessed by you.

Launch is here. In T-minus 15 hours…

Can't wait to see my "Y" squad family!

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." ~ John 10:10

Why do we go? Because He said so.
