This month we are living with a couple, which have 8 adopted Cambodian children and look after a total of 25 kids (Orphan Aid) with the help of some Cambodian staff members. We are really living the life here, we have 2 rooms to ourselves (with AC that we can use at night) and a bathroom and a full kitchen too, oh and how could I forget, we have wifi! But I would have to say one of my favorite things by far that we have been blessed with this month is towels. The mother had bought 7 towels for the world racers to use, and they are like the towels that we have at home, not our stupid quick dry ones or a sarong, they are REAL TOWELS. And oh my goodness if it doesn’t make me smile like a little kid when I dry off after a shower! So today after my shower I got to thinking that when people tell you that it’s the small things in life that are the ones you will treasure the most, they were right! Yeah it’s nice to have wifi and its nice that we have our own space and all that other stuff, but a towel, man I did not expect that! Just a simple towel can put a smile on my face after a long day of ministry, such a weird thought. But think about when you buy the person behind you a Coffee when your in the drive through at Tim Hortons, or when you give a box to operation Christmas child, things like that, that seem so small to us back home. I mean we don’t even think twice about it, but to someone else it will mean the world. You don’t have to be the person who goes and give huge extravagant gifts, because the small ones are just as good and can make people just as happy. Just a little gift, just a little money, just something small, that just seems like it would be so insignificant to us, can really make a huge difference in someone else’s life. Something as simple as a towel.
