Nepal Blog
Well this month started off pretty crappy but has turned into an amazing month! Beginning of the month I got pulled off my old team and put on a new one, which was really hard saying goodbye to the amazing friends that I had made on my old team. But I quickly adjusted, for the most part, to my new team and teammates (I am on a boys team now, it is a lot different!). They told us we were paired up with another team, which yet again I was disappointed with because I have been paired up with more teams every month except for India so far. But heck it was ok I was going to be happy because they told us that my teams ministry was going to be working with sex trafficking. My team was pumped for this, to really get into ministry as a team and specially this ministry because most people are very passionate about it. So anyway we got here and it is literally India all over again, the look, the smell, and it is 10km from India (still keeping a positive attitude, maybe this is God redeeming India to me).
Also because of me being able to talk to people at home very often, I would hear a lot of problems going on. This was like India again, but when I was in India I was ready to pack up and go home. This time though I took the time to pray about it and ask God to protect and care for my family. I opened my Bible and God just spoke peace over everything back home and that was cool to just be comforted and fully trust him and not carry that around as a burden for me.
Then because of all the strikes going on because of the election, we weren’t doing sex trafficking, we were prayer walking every morning and some days doing yard word/ gardening. Well ok you know what I just laughed because yet again I am shown not to expect anything, even when they tell us, because it always changes. So instead of being upset about that I used it as a chance to get to know my new team better, while we walked for hours I would talk to each of my teammates individually and really got to know a lot about each one of them! So that has been really good, to really get to know my teammates.
Then one of my teammates had an idea that maybe our team should try to fundraise money for the school and for more kids to go to school here, and we all got on board with that and have raised actually a lot of money so far! The cool thing about this is that we can continue to support them (Uncle and Auntie) even when we leave! They have such good hearts!
And the amazing thing that I have found this month is that my contact knows my name, He doesn’t call me sister, “hey you”, or what’s your name, this is the first contact in 5 months that actually knows me by name and I can’t explain how much of a difference that makes to me. It makes me feel like he thinks that I am worth getting to know, which has completely changed my whole perspective. It’s a really cool feeling when your contact wants to get to know you and not just want you to work and work for them! So yes Nepal was different than I assumed it would be but any way I had fun and glad that I had the experience.
Now from my last blog I had 3500$ to raise, and now I only have 1300$ to raise and that was in a matter for 3 days! To all my sponsors you have no idea what that meant to me! I literally was in shock when I looked at it and then started tearing up. Means the world to me to have so many people believe in me and are willing to support me in what I am doing here! I literally cannot thank you all enough!
God Bless
