The Needs Of Arusha…
Dear Friends
We are all safely in Arusha, Tanzania. When we arrived at Nairobi Airport, we discovered that half of the World Racers’ luggage had stayed behind at Cairo Airport! Our group of twelve (Lime Team, Yellow Team, Lloyd, Anna-Marie, Sarah R. and Jessica S.) decided to leave immediately for Tanzania as planned and trust God to send our luggage after us. So, the twelve of us had true “communtiy living”, just as the early Church in Acts, for two days! And then the bags miraculously arrived – the Airport said that it will probably take 5 days to a week. We thank God for providing for us in such an amazing way – we are thankful to have our “beloved luggage” back! Strange how a person can grow so “close” to your bag in a year! 🙂
Our time of ministry in Arusha is really blessed. We are working alongside a local church and every morning we divide into smaller groups to share the Gospel in the community. For many of us this has been a true “stretch” in ministry and it truly is one-on-one Evangelism. God is bringing much fruit on this ministry and already a great number of people have received Christ as their Personal Savior only in this week. There is, however, a great need for Bibles in this area. People cannot affort to buy their own Bibles and many have asked us if we could not do something about this. One Bible in the local language costs about $10. We want to ask on behalf of the local church for any contributions in this regard. The need truly is great!

We are also involved at a local orphanage for HIV orphans. All of their parents have passed away and many of them are HIV positive themselves. The orphanage is run by ONE lady and there are 46 little orphans. She has no support from the government and very little from the local church. Today when we arrived, we discovered that she had no food to give the children – there is no money. Any support in this regard will aslo be greatly appreciated. God has throughout this year laid orphans all over the world on our hearts, and this is once again a heartbreaking situation with GREAT need. There is also great need for a new building to accommodate all the children on a fulltime basis.
Please keep covering us in prayer – we truly are working in the “front lines” here in Tanzania. Thank the Lord with us for the work that He is already doing – and pray that we will walk wherever He guides us.
Lots of love in Christ Jesus,
THE LIME TEAM
