Our message to the world…
Jacques, Lana, Stefan, and Kimmy, bondservants of Jesus Christ, called to be Missionaries to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
To our supporters and all the people around the world…Grace to you and peace from God our father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
We give thanks to God always for your prayers and support which enables us to share the Gospel of salvation around the world.
We are currently on our way from
Athens to
Turkey, sailing by ferry, where we will visit the cities of
Pergamum,
Smyrna and
Ephesus.
Thereafter, we will sail (by ferry) to
Patmos where Jesus sent his angel to the Apostle John with the Revelation from God about the last Day of the Lord.
It is concerning this Revelation of Jesus Christ that we write to you.
We don’t want you to be ignorant, but to take heed of the message Jesus gave to the seven churches which are in
Asia.
Therefore we will let you know our thoughts on these seven letters.
The
Church of
Ephesus
– walked in righteousness.
They labored for the Gospel of salvation, had patience and could not bear evildoers.
They have tested false apostles and found them to be liars.
Their main feature was persevering and not becoming weary.
Nevertheless, our Lord had the accusation against them that they had
left their first love.
This meant that all their good and noble deeds as we mentioned before was not of any use.
Christ therefore urges them to Repent and return to their first love.
He who overcomes will have the privilege of eating from the tree of life.
The
Church of
Smyrna
– was faced with severe tribulation and poverty.
(Jesus comforts them that they have riches in heaven).
There were also people that weren’t Jews who said they were, which added to the tribulation of the church in
Smyrna.
Jesus calls these men a synagogue of Satan.
He heeds them no to fear the coming suffering (for some were going to be thrown into prison during a 10 day time of tribulation) but to be faithful until death.
He who overcomes (by dying or persevering) shall not be hurt by the second death.
The
Church of
Pergamum
– was located in an area which Jesus called Satan’s throne.
This is evident in the death of Antipas who was a Martyr amongst his fellow brothers.
Though the church held fast to the Lord’s name and did not deny Him.
Still our Lord accused them of holding on to the doctrine of Balaam which is to eat food that was sacrificed to idols and commit sexual immorality and hold on to the doctrine of the Nicolaitans.
Therefore, Jesus tells them to repent or else He will fight against them with the truth of His word.
To them whoever comes will be given manna from heaven (Godly provision) to eat, and a white stone with a new name which no one except the recipient knows.
The
Church of
Thyatira
– God noticed their deeds of love, faith, service and perseverance.
This church was on the rise doing more now than they did at first.
A woman named Jezebel was being tolerated and that was not pleasing to God.
Many servants were being tempted into sexual immorality and eating food sacrificed to idols.
She was unwilling to repent which lead her and others who sin alongside her to a life of suffering.
All churches will come to know that their deeds (good and bad) will be repayed by our Father in heaven.
The
church of
Thyatira was called to not hold to the teachings of Jezebel.
The
Church of
Sardis
– appear to be alive, but God knows they are spiritually dead.
The angel calls them to wake up out of their spiritual state of death.
The people of
Sardis are called to strengthen everyone who is still alive in Christ and save them from certain death and not living up to God’s expectations.
The people of
Sardis have been instructed to obey and repent of their sins as they were told by the angel.
They are warned that if they do not wake up from this state of spiritual death, they will be caught by surprise by the angel’s coming.
Surely, there are a few people in
Sardis who are truly spiritually alive and who are worthy of walking alongside him dressed in white.
All the other people who overcome in Christ will similarly be dressed in white.
His name will always remain in the book of life and will be acknowledged before God.
The
church of
Sardis is called to listen to the Holy Spirit.
The Church in
Philadelphia
– God’s message to the Church in
Philadelphia is that he has opened a door for them that will never be shut.
God knows that although they are weak, they are still obedient and faithful to his name.
Those who were deceivers and not authentic Jews will be ashamed.
The church in
Philadelphia is encouraged to stay patient and faithful.
They are promised they will receive their reward.
The Church in Laodiceas
– God the Amen and Creator says to the
Church of
Laodicea: I know that you are neither cold nor hot, but lukewarm.
Because of this, I will vomit you out of my mouth.
Because of your wealth, you have become blind and don’t see you own spiritual nakedness and how poor you really are.
I ask you to buy from gold refined in fire, garments that may clothe you and anoint your eyes so that you may truly see.
As many as I love – I will rebuke!!
Therefore, I urge you to repent!
If you open the door for me, if you repent and invite me in, I will come in and dine with you.
To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with my father on His throne.
If you have ears, listen to what the Spirit says to you.
We appeal to you, brethren, bear with the word of exhortation.
For the Day of the Lord shall come like a thief in the night.
Therefore, take heed and be blameless that you also will be found worthy to sit with our Lord in His Majesty and Glory.
Greet all the Saints who are with you.
Persevere to the end.
Grace be with you all.
Amen
