Far away in the East…

Friends, we really want to take the time to thank some wonderful people we have met on our way to the East:
-Jacques and his wife, Flor:  Thank you SO much for the  Pizza and the wonderful time we had in your house!
-Victor:  Thank you for the money you gave us and the e-mail we received.  We will remember you and keep you in our prayers!
-Carol:  Thanks for the great conversation on the flight here (Stefan)
-Our Doctor-friend (whose name we cannot disclose) who gave us free medical care.

Five days…  Two flights…  Four different beds…  36 Hours on a train…  Over two mountains…  And finally:  The East!

Our journey to here came with some challenges.  Anita’s laptop, together with Anna-Marie’s, were stolen at Hong Kong Airport.  We had the whole Airport Security up in arms, but could find neither the guilty person, nor the stolen laptops.  In spite of this, we can still testify:  “Nogtans sal ons die Here dien!” (“We will still serve the Lord!”)

Here we are in the hotel we are now staying in.  Below on the right, the thermometer shows that the temperature this afternoon was less than 5 Degrees Celcius.
After a LOOOOOONG train ride, we drove over the MOST BEAUTIFUL snow-covered mountains (unfortunately we have no photo’s, but promise to post some later) and arrived in the city where we will be racing against the other teams tomorrow.  We got a nice “carb-load” tonight to stock up on our energy before the race:

The need of the people here is beyond our human understanding.  There are entire cities of more than 400 000 people who have never heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  We were privileged today to meet a newborn Christian and one can truly see the difference in his life compared to his fellow-countrymen!  Please pray for us earnestly, since we need to decide within a day or two where we will be ministering for the following week.  The need is SO great and we truly want to do only what the Lord calls us to do!

May the Lord bless you all in everything you do.  Pray for the people in the East that the Lord’s Love will bring to their lives the true salvation that they so desperately need!  They are the most wonderful, friendly people, but SO many of them are without Jesus!  Pray for wisdom on our side as to how, where and when we should testify about Jesus, and when to only carry this nation in prayer.

Lots of love in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
The Lime Team
