This is for my youth……
For those of you that don't know….I am a youth leader, I spend almost every Friday night hanging out with and pouring into our church youth…..and let me tell you….for me to give up my Friday nights for them is no sacrifice. In fact, when I miss a Friday night foR something else I feel lack.
For those of you that do know….you know how big a part of my life they have become, and how important they all are to me.
And for my youth….Each and every single one of you is amazing. Created in the image of God. You are all different, you all possess incredible gifts, and you are all going to change the world in one way or another. Over the last year and…lets say just under a half, I have been with you and over this time you have influenced me greatly. All in different ways. You have influenced the way I view your age group, mothers and fathers, the world, worship, my definition of fun, and a ton of other things. You guys have completely and utterly ruined my Fridays nights for anything else, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
In that song "Closer" the chorus lyrics say:
I want to know Your heart
And for me, God's heart is for you. I want to see you learn and grow beyond anything that you have ever imagined, and I know that you will, because I have seen your hearts.
For the next (at least) 47 Fridays beginning on Jan 11th (and hopefully no more than 48) I will be missing something that I have grown very used to. I will miss you guys an incredible amount. It is going to be an amazing year of growth with Kersten, Gill, and Nick for each and every single one of you, and I am very excited for the awesomeness and change that you will all encounter and go through. God loves you so much and has incredible plans for your lives!
WOOOOH! I am also soooooo excited for what I will come back to!
