Hola Amigos! I arrived safely at our first destination, Palenque, Mexico, this past Monday and it´s all so surreal!
It´s absolutely beautiful here…somewhat of a tropical landscape with luscious greenery & colorful flowers bordering the roads. Horns honking & the business of people fill this town, though where we are currently living is slightly outside of town in a much quiter location. The smell of burning trash, mosquitos buzzing next to my ear at night, & walking long distances to our destinations bring back fond memories of being in a foreign country.  The humidity is quite rough and we are learning to adjust, some of us maybe a little better than others (you know, those of us from those colder or more dry climates).
This week we are doing launch training as the entire July squad, where we have primarily been learning to listen more for God´s voice.  In this we have been doing interactive sessions of prayer in small groups, worshipping together, as well as getting more informed cross-culturally, learning conflict management, & dealing with logistics for the year.  Last night he specifically united us through a time of confession and just laying down some of our junk, followed by speaking truth over one another.  Before we began our time together it felt rather disconnected between one another and from God.  We didn´t know what this time should look like, but we did know we needed more of His Spirit.   Out of this, it was awesome to see how God spoke to different people in our group about what this time should be and He naturally led us closer to Him.  I recently had a picture of someone on their knees with their hands lifted.  In order for this person to rise to their feet, they must first be humbled.  This has been taking place among us.
Please pray for our entire squad as we will soon be making decisions individually within each team as to where we will head next for countries and ministries the next two months.  We are so excited!
I haven´t had much time today in this little Internet Cafe here in the town square, but please stay posted for stories & pictures!
                  Much Love, Krystle
