Waiting is overwhelming.
Not knowing anything about His plan is overwhelming.
But you know what else is overwhelming? My father’s love and provision for me!
As I was sitting on my parents’ bedroom floor crying because I was just so overwhelmed by all of this last-minute emergency fund-raising, my dad said something pretty profound- and I would like to share it with you all! This is especially for my teammates.
“So what if you have 4 days to raise $5,600? God created this whole earth and universe in 6! He can do this with a twitch of his pinky.”
The most amazing part of this? He’s totally and completely right.
I get to be in partnership with the most high, the maker of all. My God has riches beyond belief, and I get to be in his care.
And you know what? “Impossible is just an opinion”
Impossible happens to be something someone says when they don’t have Jesus backing them up. When they don’t understand the power of His provision.
As much as I am tired of being nervous about the money coming in, as much as I am exhausted from constantly crying out to Jesus, I am also filled with a ridiculous trust. In no way is this physically plausible. But of course God doesn’t just work in the plausible. He works in the impossible, the ridiculous, the crazy, the insane. There is nothing that God cannot do. This trust may be ridiculous to the outside world, but it is so deeply founded and realistic to who I’m partnered with.
Through this process of trusting and fundraising, I have been learning so much about God and His provision and goodness. And as much as I hate to admit it, I will- I have learned way more through this stress and hardship and uncertainty than I would have if everything was all fine and dandy.
“WOO HOO I’m learning a lot! Now I’ll be good for the rest of the funds to come in, Jesus! Lesson over!” Right!? Right?? …. Right?
Eh, I know it doesn’t work that way, but I thought I’d try at least…
So I have 4 days. Not four days to raise a little over $5,400. Four more days of witnessing how God performs this crazy miracle. Four more days of seeing Him provide!
So prayer warriors: Please be praying like never before! Pray that the hearts of others will be moved to give and support this mission trip!
