As I encounter many and share how excited I am to go on the World Race, several of the same questions have come up during our conversations. I would like to answer some of those for you in case you were wondering about the same things.

What will I be doing on the World Race?

I like to think of the World Race as an encouragement based ministry. As we go in to each country we are connected with a ministry that is there 24/7. This means in one country I may be working with an orphanage and in another I will be working in a hospital. We help in any way possible: building relationships, performing manual labor, sharing the gospel, and more. Every month will look different, but it will all be with one purpose in mind: being Christ to the nations.

Why do you want to go on the World Race?

Wow. There are so many reasons I have chosen to go on the World Race. I have a passion to serve people. I enjoy blessing others in practical ways and most importantly doing it to glorify God. I want to bring hope to those that don’t have any and that hope is a relationship with Jesus. I have seen the Lord work in incredible ways in America, but He is also the God of the entire universe. I can’t wait to see the ways He is working in other people across the world. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of that plan.

What are you looking forward to the most?

I think the three countries I am most excited to serve in are Lithuania, Malaysia, and Thailand. Few have even heard of the European country Lithuania and yet in the whole world this is the country with the number one highest suicidal rate. Few have had the opportunity to hear about my past battles with depression, but I am extremely excited to share with others, who are struggling in a way I use to, that Christ is the conqueror of such a painful experience.

Malaysia is a country where the name of Jesus is rarely spoken of. Many haven’t had the chance to form a relationship with Christ because they haven’t been told about Him.

In Thailand, we will be working with sex trafficking. As females we will have the ability to go out and befriend prostitutes in order to share the love of Christ with them. We also will be offering an outlet to the sex trafficking lifestyle so they can start anew in a business rather then selling their bodies to stay alive. These are just a few of the ministries that I am looking forward to.

How will you be traveling?

There are many ways we will get from one country to the next. One way will simply be through backpacking. As I am home for Christmas right now, I have been going backpack shopping with my parents a bunch. It is a lot of fun. Also, there will be times when we load on a bus to travel and on occasion fly from one destination to another.

How can I specifically be praying for you?

I mention this often but it really is the largest obstacle at this point in my journey. Please pray for me financially. I am doing my best in fundraising, but it is a large goal. I believe God will provide, but He also asks us to constantly bring before Him our challenges. This is a challenge I am facing for certain. Your prayers mean so much to me!!

Also, even though it seems to be far off, please pray for the lives that I will come in contact with through my missions trip. Pray that those who have never heard the gospel before will be open to the Holy Sprit and let Him work in their lives.
