Wow. What a great two weeks I have had!! I never would have imagined that after only two weeks, I would be attached to so many people. I really wish that everyone could meet my friends here. I would like to tell you a little bit about some of my closest friends.
Francisco – ¨Pancho¨ – He is one of the pastors of the church we have been working at. He has such a passion for God and the people of his community. Although he doesn´t speak much english and I do not speak much spanish we became instant buddies. We cannot even look at eachother without laughing. There is just so much joy between us. We have had some crazy times together and I pray that someday we will meet again and share many more memories. Maybe we will be able to communicate at that time. We have had a few heart to heart conversations sitting in the computer lab in Palenque. There is a great website that translates from english to spanish and spanish to english. We utilized that a lot!!!
Samuel – ¨Sammy¨- He is the head pastor of the church and the MOST generous person I have ever met. He also doesn´t speak much english! From the second we got to Jerusalen, he made us feel right at home. He is a chef and can cook some amazing Mexican food. That is a huge compliment coming from someone who doesn´t really like Mexican food! Sammy has the sweetest heart and truly lives a life striving to be like Jesus Crist.
Luis – My oh my. Luis is 7 years old and absolutely adorable. If he is sitting in front of me in church, he will occasionally just look back and make sure I am still there and watching him. He has the sweetest face. I will NEVER forget my little friend!
Ana – My mom here in Mexico. Along with her husband and two daughters, Ana opened her house to all 7 of us. Her family of four squeezed into one room and let us take over her house. I really learned about generosity and hospitality from her. Ana and her family also took me to a Mexican wedding. That was an experience…could be a whole other blog!!
These are just a few of the wonderful people I have met here in Jerusalen. I would love to tell you about each one, but time is money!!! Please keep the people of Jerusalen in your prayers. There are a lot of people in this area searching for truth, please pray that my friends here will be able to reach many people and tell them about the love of Jesus Christ.
