This feeling is all too familiar. I am not sure if it has grown to bring comfort or frustration. I am knee deep in a time of transition yearning for times of the past and future! It has been almost four weeks since I left working at Youth for Christ and not a day goes by that I don’t think of “my girls”. I have full confidence that the Lord will finish the works He has begun in them to completion! Through softening my heart to the voice of God I have assurance that ministry is the direction my life will take. So right now I am in between. From COTW in New York to YFC in Winnipeg to eagerly waiting for the World Race to begin! 10 months, that is the longest I have had to wait! Do you think God is teaching me patience?! Here I thought I already learnt that lesson. I have been humbled to realize that sometimes I am like a small child. Standing near a hot iron, I know it will burn me, should I touch it? Sometimes we learn best from repetition.
I do believe that the next 10 months is necessary for preparation before the World Race. There will be times of testing, loneliness, longing, passion, excitement, fundraising… etc. Last night I was dwelling on a prayer that I was repeating over the past month. “Lord, let your fire refine me so I may be closer to your heart.” My time in Lloydminster and preparing is going to be exactly that- refinement and testing.
So this is my question to you. Will you come along side me? In prayer, support, friendship, or whatever you feel called to! The reality that I am going to be travelling to 11 countries in the span of 11 months is slowly sinking in! A dream of mine is slowly coming to reality but I can’t do it alone. I will be going to Ireland, Romania, Ukraine, India, Nepal, Mozambique, Swaziland, South Africa, Thailand, Cambodia, and Taiwan. I will be sent out with the organization AIM (Adventures in Missions). We will be working in orphanages, building projects, spending time with the people in their culture, and working with girls trapped in the sex trade. I also think it is time to spice this blog up with some videos, pictures, etc. My goal when I write is to always be raw and honest about the joys, trials, and everything that comes along with this journey. I want to do this all while honouring God and hopefully inspiring those who follow!
Now for the nitty gritty. To partake on the World Race I have to come up with $15,500! If you feel led to partner with me financially you can do so on my world race blog. I am also playing with ideas of bake sales, crafting, silent auction, making t-shirts… etc. What I am really asking for is your prayer and emotional support. I feel so encouraged when I get a random note from someone when I didn’t even know they were reading my blog!
