Christ, people and culture. These three things hold a special place within my heart! Travelling the world, proclaiming the gospel, releasing prisoners, and empowering women; seems like a trip only alive in my wildest dreams. Yet my God ignites to flames the burning embers in my heart. This dream has the possibility to become reality. With AIM (Adventures in Missions) I have the opportunity to be a part of The World Race. This is an 11 month mission’s trip in which I travel to 11 different countries. My specific route includes; Ireland, Romania, Ukraine, India, Nepal, Mozambique, Swaziland, South Africa, Thailand, Cambodia, and Taiwan. We will be living among the people, in simplicity, in community, and being an instrument in what God has already begun in the nations.
I will go; a phrase I used to brag I could so easily utter. This time it holds a hint of unknown and sacrifice. 11 months in a sleeping bag. 11 months away from my family. 11 months from “the rest of my life”. 11 months without Starbucks. 11 months of limited showers and cleanliness. These are all thoughts that have crossed my mind, some more important than others. The thoughts that win are; 11 months of fruit. 11 months of seeing Gods mighty work in the nations. 11 months of taking these hands and healing. 11 months of deep fellowship. 11 months of abandonment from cultural comforts. 11 months of discovery. 11 months of freeing women from chains of prostitution and slavery. 11 months of holding the child that has never felt the warm arms of someone that cares. I will go. With one mission, Love God and love people. I know it will not end at 11 months but is another part of this journey of faith; a wild chase of following the Holy Spirit.
This is my letter to you asking if you will come alongside. Hold me in your prayers, as I am already feeling the stress of the enemy. Tell others of this journey, share my blog with your friends, spread the word. If possible come alongside financially. As a part of the mission I have to raise $15,500 ..(gulp). That has been a difficult amount to swallow but I believe it is attainable. I cannot do it on my own and it has taken some humbling to realize that. So I am asking you to take time and pray, see if the Lord is prompting you to partner with me.
