AFRICAN TIME.
Our squad left Bolivia, traveled to New York for a 12 hour layover, hopped back on a plane that took us to the Middle East for a 5 hour layover (video to come soon!), and then climbed aboard another plane that landed us in Jo-Berg, South Africa, where a precious mini-bus took us on a 3 hour ride to our debrief site, where we actually got to meet up with the World Race September 2007 team for a couple of days before they headed out to Central America.
3 continents in 3 days… talk about intense. And I’ve had more “IS THIS REALLY MY LIFE?” moments over the last week than I can tell you!!! Yesterday we had a Race Day, an I drove a car with the steering wheel on the right side of the car and legally on the left side of the road, saw the beauty of the African country, and free-fell off of a 300 foot cliff… (this video also to come soon).
I began making a “travel day” video… but my squad leader Rusty beat me to it. And its good. So check out his video to see some of the happenings from our experience of traveling to 3 continents in 3 days…. TRAVEL DAY PICTURE SHOW… by THE Rusty Jackson
Tomorrow afternoon, my team of 5 leaves for Botswana, South Africa……
We’ll find out more about what our minitry will be like once we get there, but we know that it involves hospital time with children, church services, loving everyone we can, and community projects. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that this is the location that God has for us to be at, and am READY to be and do what He intends… something tells me that we are going to get wrecked… in the best way possible. And I pray that God’s presence does the same thing in the hearts of those we get to be with this month… as we say here at AIM: “Wrecked For the Ordinary“.
I have no idea what the internet will be like in Botswana, but hopefully I’ll be able to fill you in soon on what has become of us! Please keep our team in your prayers!
Love ya’ll….
**Mom, I’ve seen giraffes, wildabeasts, monkies, and crazy looking birds… but no cheetahs! 🙂 Kimi is still safe.
