I cannot believe that I will be in Georgia getting ready to go on the race in less than a month. It just doesn’t seem real yet. Probably because I have a CRAZY month ahead, and because I’m realizing just how hard it’s going to be to leave everything here.
I was at church (Reality Carpinteria) for almost 10 hours yesterday setting up for “Around the World” Vacation Bible School and as I met a bunch of people for the first time many of them responded with, “Oh! You’re Kelly. I’ve been praying for you!” It just blew my mind. SO this is what church is supposed to be like! I was so encouraged.
I never would’ve thought I would be so connected and loved in such a short amount of time. It almost saddens me that I’m leaving so soon. It’s going to be hard to say goodbye to the amazing friends and people I’ve met here over the last couple months, yet I’m going into this scary year ahead with a whole army of prayer warriors and encouragers behind me! Oh, how I don’t deserve these blessings from the Lord.
Along with the encouraging/warrioring, God has really put the word “valiant(ly)” on my heart and so I’ve been doing a word study of that the past week on what it really means and how He wants to use that word in my life (I plan to blog on it soon! this is just a teaser!)
Anyway, here’s what the next two weeks look like for me, since you probably won’t be seeing much in the way of blogs posts:
August 8-10th- To Washington D.C. for a business trip.
August 10th- 14th- To Indiana/Michigan to visit family and hang out with a couple WR teammates.
August 14th-21st- To Oregon for family vacation.
I will have limited internet access during this time, so be sure to call me and keep me in the loop.
Finally some prayer requests:
1.) That I wouldn’t feel like I missing out on church stuff and building community by being gone these next two weeks.
2.) For safe travels for the next couple weeks
3.) For the itching and swelling to stop (Bugs!)
4.) That the kids at Reality would come to know the Lord in a new way as they learn about His heart for the nations this week (VBS).
5.) For excitement, preparation and peace in leaving my life in SB and going around the world.
