Hi everyone. I am 22 years old and just finished my sociology degree in Davis, California at the University of California at Davis (UC Davis). I was a piano teacher for 8 amazingly cute kids (and the money wasn’t bad either). I love music, traveling, missions, antiques and children.
I was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California (aka Paradise!). I was raised in a church that wasn’t committed to teaching the bible. Although I knew I loved Jesus, I didn’t understand that the Christian life is about a personal, intimate relationship with the real and living God. When I left for college in September of 2003 I knew I wanted to get involved with a campus fellowship.
I joined Campus Crusade for Christ at UC Davis and spent my 4 years of college serving with them. I went on two summer projects with them, one in Southern California and one in East Asia where I got training in how to share my faith. I also spent a summer teaching English in Vietnam and fell in love with Southeast Asia!
Until about the beginning of February I was planning on joining staff with Crusade on a US campus, but the Lord started to put the nations on my heart. I was on the WR update list and suddenly I started to ask myself: am I capable of something like the World Race? I went to training in both April 07 and September 07 and at the last training as my team was about to head out on the race the Lord convicted me about running from ministering to my family and showing them compassion (they don’t know the Lord personally!). So here I am, back in Santa Barbara. Involved in an AMAZING church (really I never thought such a church existed) and seeking the Lord on what is next. I’m currently working for a family in Montecito and praying about interning with Campus Crusade for Christ at UC Santa Barbara for the 2008-2009 school year.
