Dear Cambodia,

You weren’t what I expected at all and for that I am so grateful. You have been another place I have wanted to journey to for a long time and whenever I thought about my race, I saw you. I saw you as a place that needed rescuing and I saw myself as the person to do that. And yes you have your brokenness, but you also have your beautiful things.

You have people who love you so well, even when you’ve been showing in river water and sweating buckets.

You have culture that shines all the way to a water village.

You have food that I can get behind. Street food pancakes are still probably one of my favorite things.

You have a Ministry host that serves her people and community so well, and her teams so well.

You have rivers and trees and mountains that take my breath away.

You have my heart Cambodia, and I will be back again someday very soon with my best friend in tow and a smile on my face.

Thanks for it all,
Katy May
