Well I made it to Ecuador.
I just have a quick story about God’s goodness and how he changes your perspective. We arrived yesterday at 5:00, after 32 hours in a bus. I was tired, irritable, and missing Colombia. Even though I am outgoing, I am introverted and I was dreading all-squad month and to top it off, I had a top bunk, which terrifies me. I was in the midst of all this negativity when I discovered I had left my wallet on the bus. At this point, the bus drivers were long gone, and I was in tears. I found John and He found our ministry host Gustavo to try and contact the bus driver. Gustavo’s phone needed to be charged, so I waited, and I prayed, and I cried. In those five minutes, I remembered the words the host had told us earlier in our orientation,
“Choose Joy.”
The panic and tears resided and at that moment, a yellow taxi pulled into the driveway. Out stepped our bus driver with my turquoise wallet in his hand. He had found it and because my ID was in it, He knew it was a World Racer and where to take it. I paid for his taxi ride and gave him all the pesos I had left in my wallet and hugged him.
In that moment, the Lord changed my perspective and I am Choosing Joy this month.
