Good Monday Morning,
I have been think a lot about fundraising these past few weeks. To be honest, its all I think about, and I need to be shifting my focus from how big the goal is to how big our God is. That being said, here are my ideas and where I am with fundraising.
Fundraising Letters:

The tried and true method of sending out fundraising letters is the biggest way that you bring in money because its a personal way of reaching out. A good friend of mine told me about how she prayed over each of her letters before she sent them out and I was taken aback by the trust she had for God and how its about making it personal to God as well. Even though it takes time and I would rather just send them out right now, I am taking time to pray over each of these letters before I send them.
100 Grid:
The purpose of this is that people give what they can. I brought it to my young adult ministry Monday night and I had 11 people step up to give and together they donated close to $185. When they are all filled, I will have $5,050, which is about a third of my overall goal.
30 for 30:
Another way I am asking for people to partner with me is by committing to a monthly donation. I am seeking out 30 people willing to give $30 a month until April when all of the money is due. If this accomplished, I will have raised about $8,000. So far, I have 2 people to commit to partner with me in this way.
Trivia Night:
I am going to be hosting a trivia night a local Christian owned coffee shop in September. It will be composed of teams that will each be competing for a set of gift cards to the coffee shop. I will have trivia about each of the countries I will be going to as well as random travel questions. I will also be having a raffle to win some coffee that the shop sells that is fair trade and bought from different countries, some even are ones I will be traveling to.
T-Shirts:
This one I am super excited about, I am selling t-shirts through this amazing organization called fund the nations. They support mission trips and church groups. Together, we designed this shirt and I will be pre-selling them until the end of August and then I will send out the first order. You can see how to buy them at my fundraising facebook page.

Benefit Concert:
I have connected with my church and we are going to be having a benefit concert in October where some really amazing and talented musicians are going to be playing and then leading us in a time of worship. I hope to also have a silent auction going in the back of the room as well. I have some artistic friends who are donating art pieces as well as friends who are wiling to donate their skills and time for acts of service. I am really looking forward to this one.
Race for the Race:
I have been working on losing weight for the last year, and have lost and kept off 30 pounds, I am working to continue losing weight before the race. I was talking with my roommate this week and we decided to train for and participate in the Seattle marathon in November. We don’t expect to be able to run the whole thing, but we want to complete it. We are going to be looking for people who want to support us by running alongside us, and people who want to sponsor miles. I am looking for $100 a mile in sponsorship. This is something where people can support not only my trip, but also my health.
I am really excited for the next few months of fundraising and preparing for the race. Stay tuned for more updates to come.
