Hello friends! I tried to blog yesterday, but lost everything I had written…. I’ll be more careful this time to save everything before trying to post!

Life here has been amazing and intense. We’ve got many amazing people trying to pour into us an incredible amount of information and encouragement, in a short amount of time (we got a 3 month church planting class condensed into 3 hours!)! I am exhausted and overwhelmed, but I praise the Lord for the chance to be in this position.
Please pray that I would be able to process and internalize these great teachings easily and quickly! We’ve got today and tomorrow to finish our training and ministry in Matamoros, then the first leg of the race begins Sunday morning.

Team Doulos (Red Team, or la familia roja) is a great place to be. We had to split into two groups yesterday, and already it felt like we were missing our other half! We are a laidback group of people, who love the Lord with all of ourselves! Please check the Red Team post for an amazing story about God’s faithfulness in the acquisition of our vehicle… this was a great experience to remind us that we are here to walk in faith, that we trust His direction for our team, and that He will remain true to His word. It’s the perfect way to begin our trip, the first week of an eleven month journey!
Praise God for His faithfulness!

The past few evenings have been times of intense sharing, encouragement, and prayer. I praise God for Gary Black, Andrew, and Tom, who have come to commission us as apostles and to send us out in boldness and faith. I thank them for affirming our call to share Christ Jesus, and for rebuking any fear that would hold us back. To hell with the devil! The confirmation of other Christians about my role on the team has been so affirming, and I am so much more confident about belonging here.

Saturday morning we’ll be heading out to the colonia Sirvando Canales to minister there. We’ll be holding a service to encourage the local Christian families, to teach, pray, and worship together. Team planning time is limited, so
please pray that God would clearly lead our team as we plan and minister.

What stands out to me the most, even in my short time here, is just to learn about and experience God’s supreme love and desire for us, His creation! Christianity isn’t about rules and regulations… it’s about enjoying the presence of our heavenly Father! I’m not going on this trip to see the world or to prove anything about myself… I want to accept His invitation, and follow Him to the ends of the earth! I want to see His glory in every nation!

Gloria a Dios!
