Month three, our squad was in beautiful Vietnam. Our team stayed in Da Nang, a beautiful beach city of about 1,000,000 people. We were very near My Khe beach, also known as China Beach, a significant site in the Vietnam War.
We stayed in a hotel about a 15-minute walk from the beach and, more importantly, within walking distance of everywhere we needed to go for our assignment this month. This was great! Except for maybe that one time when Da Nang got hit dead-on by a tropical depression and we walked waded to our hosts’ house in the strongest part of the storm. That was wet.
This month we worked with Orphan Voice, a Christian organization providing for orphans, at risk young adults, special needs children, and more. You can check out their website here.
