A lot has been going on around the Mitchell house!  The last several weeks have been so busy it has made our heads spin!  Truth is you could count on one hand the number of days in the past 6 weeks that we haven't had some commitment or another in addition to work.

Here are a few of the Race-related things we've had going on:

February 24, we had the awesome opportunity to share about what God has been doing and is going to be doing with us through the World Race with our entire congregation.  Although we were a bit nervous about it, our awesome mobilizer, Kacie, prayed with and for us, gave us some pointers, and helped us clarify what we wanted to say.  After church we had our first fundraiser (or Fuzzy-raiser) at Fuzzy's Taco Shop.  Between individual donations and proceeds from meal tickets, we were able to increase our funding account by over $400! A big Thank-You to everyone who came out and supported us!

March 1 was the final day of our first coin drive.  We collected coins for about a week and a half and raised almost $200 and 22lbs of change.  We're hoping to double this for our March coin drive, so if you have a jar, ashtray, or pocket full of change you'd like to contribute, please do!

March 9 we kidnapped my parents and drove to Abilene (2.5 hrs away) for a fundraiser held by one of our squad mates, Patrick.  We also got to meet a couple of our other squad mates, Kalin and Brittany.  After meeting the three of them, I'm about 100x more excited about the Race than I was before, which I didn't even know was possible.

Ben hard at work laying flooring

Currently we are in the process of laying flooring in our house in preparation for renting it out.  We've got the wood-plank floors half-way done as of now (hopefully we'll be 2/3 done by the end of tonight), and will pick up the tile for the kitchen and baths tomorrow.

Thankfully, many of our extra commitments are now fulfilled and we will have more time to focus on getting ready for the Race.  Please pray for us:

  •  as we finish the house and move
  • as we select flights, gear, and insurance
  • for God to raise up men and women to partner with us in this ministry

Thank you ever so much!
