Week one in El Salvador…where to begin? This place is awesome! We have been working to get a church ready for its inauguration on the 29th. This has included chopping down corn fields with machetes, moving piles of rocks, and filling in the fields with dirt to make a parking lot. Also, we spend a lot of time playing with children and visiting schools. The children here are amazing! They are so full of life, joy, and innocence while also being strong, confident, and and compassionate. They are genuinely happy to see you and it is so easy and rewarding just to make them laugh.
It has also been a week of firsts. I had my first popusa, I tried surfing for the first time (which is much harder than it looks), and yes I had my first “clowning” experience. God works in mysterious ways! I never thought that performing as a clown would be a part of my ministry but i’m not gonna lie I thoroughly enjoyed it.
