Ok, os I’m excited to tell you that we got the okay to blog this month after all! I was so bummed at first that we weren’t going to be able to keep you guys informed for our last month, but God is good!
I can’t even begin to explain what a blessing this month has
been for us! It has been a great month to end on, but we are truly going to
miss this place. This month we have been
working with the Mary Wanless Hospital,( a Christian Hospital) and our contacts
have been such a blessing. When we
arrived they picked us up in an ambulance, how fun =), and they greeted each of
us with a rose.
I can truly say that I have never met people like this. They
have such a devotion to the Lord, and His love just pours out of them! We have learned so much from them. Every
morning and night we have worship, and we all just cry out to the Lord and sing
Him praises! It is so beautiful, whenever I step in that room I think of that
verse where Jesus says, “my house shall be called a house of prayer.” Because
that is what this room is!
So other
than the amazing times of worship that we get to have each day, one of our
ministries this month is to work with HIV/AIDS orphans that live on the
hospital grounds. They are so precious! It is heartbreaking to think about the
fact that all they did to get this disease was to be born. But it is amazing to see these kids pray and
worship the Lord like they do at such a young age. And they are so full of joy!
Just toady I was praying for these kids and
asking the Lord to heal them. I believe that He will, whether it be through Him
taking them home, or miraculously on this earth, but as I was praying I heard
God whisper to me.. ” Briana, I use all things for good.. Even the bad things.
If these kids didn’t have this disease they wouldn’t be here at this orphanage,
and they wouldn’t be raised in this atmosphere, hearing the gospel, and where My love is so present.
They may have never come to know Me personally if it weren’t for this disease.”
As I sat there I was so engulfed by God’s love, as I once again, realized the
greatness of God’s love, and the power of His sovereignty. Sometimes it is so
hard to see how good can come from bad~ but that’s where knowing God’s
character can bring us peace. Because God is Love, and He always protects. His
ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts. So to us~ AIDS is
a terrible thing, and nothing good can come from it, but to God, spiritual is
so much more important than the physical~ and He truly does work ALL THINGS together for good for those who love Him and are called for His purpose!
