We have arrived in the Philippines and
are working with Kids International Ministries! This is our beautiful view…
Isn’t God the best artist EVER?!
Any
ways, we have several different ministries for this month.. We all have
different shifts to care for the orphans 24/7~
and when we are not doing that we are working on planting grass
on a soccer field~ for future camp ministries.
There is a church that needs to be built, and there is a
jail ministry a couple days a week.
As we work with the kids, its great
practice for Josh and I, but also a great reminder of how we probably wont be
ready for kids of our own for another 2-3 years! It’s such a huge
responsibility, and I often think of our Pastor David’s awesome transPARENT
series and the importance of consistency in raising a child. I feel like
everyone should go through pre-parental counseling before they have kids! I’ve
fallen in love with this baby girl.
Anna, she is so precious!
As far as the field goes…
It’s BIG… First we had to weed the
field and now we are moving on to planting. While I was weeding I felt as
though God was painting a picture for me of what sin looks like. A sin that can
appear to be small can go down really deep and actually have a HUGE root..
Sin
can look pretty and harmless, but if its not put to death it can grow so much
that it smothers out the good.. A little sin can start out small, but before
you know it, it can spread to all areas of your life. When it comes to getting sin out of your life~ if you don’t
get it out by the root, it will come right back… It’s cool that even amidst the most mundane parts of our day God can still teach us something.
