One man believes so. His name is Marco Estrada and he is our contact here in Guatemala. He has a great vision to see not only his own town El Tizate change but also 300 surrounding towns! His faith has been such an encouragement to our whole team. Marco calls his ministry “transformation.” He believes that God can change the hearts and souls of a people as Christ followers meet the real needs of a community by giving the gospel in not only word but action as well. It’s as if Marco read the New Testament and then immediately began to live it out. This man does not have a lot but gives so much away. El Tizate is a beautiful, quite, but completely poor town. People live on very little but are extremely resourceful and giving. We have really made ourselves at home and are establishing relationships with the neighbors and host families we are staying with. The people are warm and accepting. Bri’s spanish is soooooooo useful. Im learning quite a bit myself and have began to make friends with a few local teens in our town. Their names are Jonathan, Christian, and Louis. Please keep them in prayer. They seem very interested in what we are doing and I can’t wait to tell them about the saving power of Jesus. We love the ministry that God has placed us in and are excited to see the fruit that comes form it. We miss our family like crazy but God is doing awesome stuff here. Church was incredible today. It was an amazing experience today as we worshipped along side of fellow brothers and sisters in Christ and praised the God who saves from all different people groups, nations, and languages. More later or Mas Tarde! Love to you all from El Tizate, Guatemala.
