My First Blog!!! Ahhhhh!! This is the main source I will be using to tell everyone about all the great things that God is doing.
“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20
The World Race is an 11 month mission trip to 11 different countries. It is run by an organization called Adventure in Missions…(AIM) I will be leaving in September and traveling to:
- Europe: Bulgaria, Romania, Albania, Kosovo
- Africa: Mozambique, Swaziland, South Africa
- South America: Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia
I am sooooooo excited to travel around the world and tell people about God!! Honestly I have a good idea about what we will get to do/experience, but as I have learned from the past, God completely wrecks all my expectations when I fully trust in Him and His will for my life.
So far my family and I have held one fundraising event and let me tell you…God really showed up! A friend of mine from church heard about the trip and offered to give me a bunch of his stuff that he had and wanted to hold a garage sale himself, but he didn’t have the time or effort to do so. He gave me everything free and told me to go sell it and put it towards the trip!! Once word got out that we were going forward with that, numerous families in my church donated things that they had no more use for or wanted. It was amazing and all of a sudden, our one car garage had less than a waist-span to walk through! When I say God showed up, he SHOWED up! To take it a step further I got a text a couple weeks before the garage sale and a friend of the family DONATED A CAR!! He just gave me a car to help raise money! Praise God! In total at the garage sale we made $2,200! Then, I sold the car for another $1,500! My heart was over flowing with joy!
I’ve been asked a lot recently what I’m most excited for. So here it is!!
My Top 3 Things I Am Most Excited About
#3- The traveling
I love to travel! Flying into Belize during my previous mission trips was the most excited time in my life so far. I am the kind of guy who is a proud Texan, maybe even more proud to be from Houston. Just to know that there is so much more to see and experience out there in the world beyond Texas excites me, because I know God is calling me out of my comfort zone. God calls us to “make disciples of every nation” and I am ready to answer that call.
#2-The Team
Just think, a group of individuals, people from all over the U.S., coming together, to share a part of who they are and to follow Jesus…to make Him known! Wow!! How amazing is that? As a group, want to build relationships that will last a lifetime. I am so ready to meet other people who have signed up for this life changing mission. I know that God has BIG plans for each of us and we cannot wait to be a part of it. I must admit about myself though…I love to talk to people. At first I can be shy, but after I spend some time with them, I open up. Even when I was younger, I would just and talk to people.
*To my future team, I want you to know, that I have been praying for you daily and I cannot wait to see meet you!! God hears my prayers and He knows who you are. He will bring us together and unite us in His time. See you soon!
#1 The Growth
I have an accountability partner and that is my Dad. We choose a Chapter in the Bible and we read it separately, but then we talk about it and what it means. I find that very special. He inspires me to seek God daily and grow in His word. Now, I look forward to being a part of God’s plan to teach others how to be accountable too. When I ask God to do something big, He does something BIGGER! He opens doors that I did not know even existed. We serve such an AMAZING God!
This year, my prayer or my goal, is to be taken deeper into my relationship with Christ and become more like Him. I have been praying and asking God to continue to show me something new, or to show me a new way to love on His people. I want to see people just as He does! I can’t tell you how much I look forward to growing and getting to know HIM in an even more personal way. Starting my day in quiet time with Christ every day is just a small way I spend time with Jesus. I want to teach others how to have that relationship with Him too!
