I’m flying home to Philly from Atlanta as I type this. Alright, so maybe I didn’t actually break my plane. But It took over an hour sitting on the tarmac waiting for the maintenance people to “research and fix” the problem with the steering wheel or something like that, the two old ladies in front of me keep arguing about whether texting or phone calls are better. Apparently Fred (whoever that is) doesn’t hear well so texting is the way to go (the other old lady still doesn’t understand all of us “texting messaging hippies”).

[my view coming home from Training Camp]
An hour may not seem like a long time to wait, but after the week I just experienced at Training Camp I just want to get home curl up in bed and watch one of my favorite tv shows (or anything besides “Bear Grylls”) while eating all the snack foods I can muster before passing out.
All joking aside, this past week has been one of the hardest weeks of my life, and yet at the same time it was one of the most amazing and rewarding weeks of my life. I learned so much! They really take this week and fill it with just about everything you need to prepare yourself for the race. I’ve eaten some “less than normal” foods, slept (or tried to at least) in some odd places, ached in muscles I didn’t know existed, and was spiritually fed through some amazing speakers!
I know that before going to training camp I was pretty excited for this mission trip already, but after spending this past week with my squad (P-SQUAD!) and getting to know them and their passion for the Lord and their passion for each other, my excitement has reached another whole level! There’s no doubt in my mind after what I’ve seen this week that with these people win people for the Lord. Leaving jobs, schools, relationships, family, and even pets behind to serve the Lord was just the start of what God has planned for them!
Future racers, take heart in knowing that this week may be harder than you anticipated, but what you get out of it will more than make up for it. “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” [II Corinthians 12:9] Come with no expectations other than that God will surely be there with you, and just knowing that should excite you beyond belief for the things to come! Oh… and be ready to make a fool of yourself in some crazy dance offs!
I still need about $11,500 total for my trip so I would greatly appreciate it if you could click here and consider giving financially to help support me or click here if you have any questions at all, I'd love to talk to you!
I am selling t-shirts for $20 that you can see here. I just received mine yesterday and it turned out great! You won't want to miss out on getting one for yourself!
