woah.  check out the picture.  its real.  somehow they managed to find us the most amazing spot for our debrief.  we are staying about a half hour outside palenque in what is pretty much..the amazon.

we are staying in a cabin directly in front of the most incredible waterfalls.  i think its a resort of some sort, but have no idea how anybody would ever find this place.  once you are driving through the mountains in mexico…you have one lane and WAY TOO MANY curves in the road!  this place is down some side road, and then all of the sudden you are like in paradise!  oh, and i can even hear monkeys in the trees right above us at night.  im determined to get a picture of one, so ill post it as soon as i do 🙂

we arrived here on saturday afternoon and will be heading out on thursday once the south african teams arrive.  i believe as we speak, they are on their way down from matamoros.

for the past 2 days we have spent much time in debriefing.  bob waag graciously drove down and will be spending the week with us.  we begin the mornings with worship and prayer time.  yesterday, he took us to another one of God´s amazing beauties and i think its called “blue water”  its a little park, and has waterfalls, trails, and such a serene atmosphere.  he gave us a guideline of questions to help us process what has all happened in the past few weeks, and it was honestly so great to work through.  we had a lot of , “oh ya, i forgot about that”  i now agree how much the debriefs are needed.  we also had time to go out and read, pray, whatever we wanted.  i climbed down into the little stream and found a rock to sit on.  i wish i could somehow describe to you what it was like.  ill type out a brief little part of what was in my journal…

“I dont think I could ever be in a more beautiful place.  As I sit here on a rock in the middle of the falls, I have the light mist of water keeping me cool from the beating sun.  The trees surround this exceptionally gorgeous spot that God amazingly created.  I mediatated on verses from Psalms, and the beauty of His word was completely alive around me.  Worship music in my ears, and the background noise of the waterfalls pouring into the stream.  Thank you Lord for giving me this day…”

Tuesday we took our debrief to the myan ruins.  Its amazing to see these ancient temples that they had built and worshipped.  Actually pretty funny to see their man-made sculptures and idols built on the ground our God created.  🙂

God is doing great things…all around the world.  I can´t wait to hear more about what He is doing through you…  Keep striving towards Him.

All my love…
