we are just picking up our laundry quick in teapa, but i thought i would put out a quick update on the water situation here.  last night, the water continued to rise.  it was knee high in the street outside our house and crept up into the yard.  thankfully, it ended before it reached the porch of our house.  the four of us girls put all our stuff on the top bunk bed as the pastor and his family laughed at us.  i guess in 5 years, this has happened about 10 times, and the water has never entered their home.  i wasnt chancing it though.  🙂  we were pretty much stuck inside last night, so before we called it a night, kim and i borrowed two bikes and decided to race through the water on them.  the kids all had their bathingsuits on, and were definitely making the most of it.

today we woke up to SUNSHINE!  nice!  hopefully this will help dry up the water very quickly 🙂

today, pastor javier is taking us to an old village i believe.  and thats really the extent of what i know.  we leave tomorrow for our debrief in palenque.  also anxious to meet the south african teams!  how exciting!  their sites are posted on the worldrace homepage, so check em out sometime!

kim and i are also reading the heavenly man about brother yun.  its such an amazing book and i highly recommend it to anyone…especially if you are feeling a bit weak in your faith.  this will give you quite a reality check!

“The Lord is my light and my salvation – whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the stronghold of my life – of whom shall I be afraid?”  Psalm 27:1

lots of love…
