First of all, I want to apologize for not updating sooner.  I think I have kind of justified it by knowing Chad is taking care of keeping everyone informed…thus increasing my procrastination.  I promise to improve this last leg of the journey.

So, to avoid the book long summary of our last month, I think I’ll just highlight a few things…and let the pictures do the talking.

DESTINATION:  Coptic Orthodox Church
Qussia, Egypt  (aka…the middle of the desert)

MINISTRY OBJECTIVES:  love the people.

         serve the church.

DAILY ACTIVITIES:  teaching Sunday school & English classes

arts and crafts with the youth
                              library club (Bible study)

 serving the church
                              spending time at the orphanage

HOUSING:  Bishop Thomas’ house  (some would call it a palace)
AND we had beds.  comfortable ones.

FOOD:  a long table filled with many colorful looking yummies.  i heard having a variety of colors is good for your health.  so, i started adding food coloring to the chocolate.  just kidding.  🙂  we actually had meat on occasions, plate fulls of tomatoes and cucumbers.  soup, spagetti, pita bread with cheese spread, and a coconut desert.

TRAVELLING:  we hired a large bus to take us to the village (5 hours out of Cairo) and from there would just use the church van to visit places.  we even had security guards who would have to lead us everywhere we went.  even if we decided to walk outside the gated house to the store…they had to guide us.  a little crazy!

PEOPLE:  hospitable.  dedicated.  Christ-seeking.  loving.

Overall, we had an amazing time with the community.  The church welcomed us with open arms and unconditional love.
After leaving Qussia, we travelled back to Cairo for a little debrief and of course to check out the pyramids!  We fly out to Kenya tomorrow night.  Please keep our travels in your prayers along with our finances.  We are trusting God to provide the remaining amount for all the world racers to finish the year.  He has been faithful this far, and we are holding onto His promise He called each one of us to.

all my love…
