The day has come!!  I am in Mexico and filled with mixed emotions!  My family and friends had a prayer send-off for me on Saturday morning and then the plane took off at 2:55pm.  Last night I think reality set in.  We arrived in a little village over the border and slowly tackled the bumpy roads back to our new home.  The building is a part church/ part dorm.  As I laid in my sleeping bag, I felt a bit nervous.  What am I doing?  And then I felt a peace come over me and God reassuring me that He desires for me to grow, learn, and minister on this trip.  I just needed to trust.  So I caught up with my team a bit and then hit the lights.

Today is Sunday…I think?! 🙂  We woke up around 7:30 this morning.  They weren’t kidding about the roosters crowing early!  I found a quiet spot on the roof and read for a bit.  It’s been cool just taking in the surroundings…kids running around with a kickball, people carrying on conversations that you wouldn’t attempt to understand, and the best is the clothes hanging on the lines to dry – with the unbeliveable dust swirling around.  hmm.  🙂

We are having some brief orientation and training…a little church service in an hour and then dinner at 9.

and tomorrow is another day…
