so…where does the other sock always end up? really…

coming from a family ofseven brothers and one sister, i fall in place third from the top. i still call ohio home as i have lived here my whole life. country girl at heart – but amazed by the city life and wonders of creation. i love diversity – hoodies and bonfires, ski gear and mountains, suits and cities, sunshine andbeaches.
children are my passion. the love of my life
– my niece mckenna, is 7 months old.

i accepted Christ 4 years ago in a home bible study. it was pretty amazing how fast it clicked in my mind. the message was simple. “just because you are a good person does not mean you will go to heaven.” WHAT? you mean there was more to it? for as long as i can remember…that was what i believed. he then relayed a few words that changed my life … “that if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9… and that is exactly what iprayed that night.

a few things i cherish… quick-witted humor. live music. chocolate. lilacs. competition. football. commitment. laughing. encouragement. coffee shops. humbleness. reflection. authenticity. snow skiing. sour patch kids. stimulating conversation. fun people. and on the deepest level of my heart – just lovingGod’s world.

i have worked with the senior high youth group for a couple years. its really a special thing to gain their trust and to share joys and struggles. the summer of 2003 held much significance for me. many aspects of life were really put into perspective. i joined a group on a week long missions trip to mexico. it was utterly astounding to observe their contentment with almost nothing. i think God really desired for my heart to be changed more than anything on that trip.

for the past five and a half years i have worked for a company that manufactures medical instruments. my job was in supply chain – working as a planner/buyer. i’m very grateful for this experience but really felt God tugging on my heart to research year long missions trips. i’m always up for a good adventure, thrive on challenges, and ampassionate about sharing Christ…so the World Race seemed to be a perfect fit and answered prayer for me.
