so now you have seen the pics…ill recap you a bit about our day yesterday.

first, i have to say that the picture above on the right was our dinner plate.  we were treated by the teachers to a restaurant and when they brought out the plate of food…it was a mixture of noodles, potatoes, and chicken.  BUT not only chicken…like we know “chicken” … the head and claws included!  oh my word…i had to hold back.  it was really really hard.  they kept serving us more and more food.  at one point, the one teacher picked up the chicken head with his chopsticks and was heading in my direction.  i freaked.  “oh please Lord, no nO NO!”  somehow, i was completely saved from that.  i think it was because i kept my head down and acted like my plate was already full.  plus kind of blocked his line of serving with my hand.  it was sooo hard!  the little boy across from me was knawing on one of the claws for like an hour.  unbelievable.  the other one is above…as you can see.  ugh.

so i needed to enter down this much so that picture would go away while i typed.  🙂

anyways, besides dinner…we had an awesome day yesterday!  we headed to the school for our “free talk” and was greeted by a large group of kids clapping loudly.  we heard them while we were walking down the hall.  it was like we were walking down the red carpet…only a cement floor.  so funny.  we enter into the room, and it is just an uproar of cheering.  WHAT?!  i was so shocked and kind of embarassed.  kind of looked behind me thinking celion dion was standing there (she is HUGE in china!)

so we sat in the front of the room and it unfolded just like a press conference.  absolutely hilarious and nothing like i pictured.  the teacher had us introduce ourselves and then invited the kids to stand up one at a time and ask questions.

“please stand now”  “be brave” “dont be shy”

we had many kids ask us questions about Christmas, our jobs, the kids in america, our culture.  they were very interested in learning about America.  it was also interesting the difference in questions between the kids, and the teachers.  we were asked our opinion on different political matters concerning the US and China by the teachers.

after the kids asked a question, the teacher would look at us and say “please solve their problem now, ok?!”  haha..meaning “answer the question”

paul shared the easter story with them.  he told them about Jesus dying on the cross for all of us and when he was through asked if anyone had any thoughts or questions.  unfortunately, this discussion was ended very abrubtly.  we then taught them two english songs….”sanctuary” and “how great is our God.”  friske played her guitar and we sang with them…each song about 10 times.  the teacher told us that these kids wanted to learn it well, so they could remember us by singing this song.  how GREAT IS OUR GOD!

the best thing was catching up with the students afterwards and on the streets.  we even have them randomly dropping by our hotel room to hang out.  this will enable us to share much more about Christ with them outside the school limits.

another teacher that was present, invited us to his middle school about an hour away.  we will be meeting with him soon to figure out the best time to have a “party” with his class as well!

please keep these kids in your prayers and i will post again soon!

all my love…
