real quick updates…
our last night in guanghu, china was incredible! our little chinese friend, ma’june accepted Christ!! i had sat down on the bed with him and we were looking through our little phrase book. he speaks only a few english words, so we were pretty limited to our actual conversation. we started reading scriptures and eventually went through the sinners prayers. afterwards, he was so ecstatic! he kept pointing to himself and then pointing to that part in the book and clapping his hands and giving me the thumbs up. then he would end it with a “hallelujah!” awesome awesome!
the picture on your left is kind of funny. when we were leaving, the guy on the right was trying to fit into our taxi too and there was NO room! so our friends were trying to tell him “no” and then the cab driver ended up getting into a little fight with him trying to pull him out. i felt bad, but c’mon…kim was already on my lap!
so the next morning we had an amazing time with our friends at breakfast and then said goodbye. we travelled to lanzhou and stayed the night there. we woke up and met up with the rest of the teams. we did some last minute errands and then headed for the train station. we rode the train for 2 nights/3days and then jumped on a bus to macau. after we went through customs and crossed the border we took a taxi to the airport. from there, we fly out (this is sunday evening) to bangkok. we landed in bangkok on sunday night at 10:35pm. by the time we got our bags, through customs again, and decided where we were going to stay for the night, it was after 1am.
we ended up booking at the trang hotel downtown bangkok which is where i am right now. we were here last night, will be here tonight and then tomorrow night. its a little rest period for us before we head to our ministry site for the month.
and its crazy how we went from freezing cold weather, to unbelievable heat within a two day period. i’m loving it though! no complaints from me! today, kim, friske, and i decided to check out the area so we took little tuk tuk’s around to shopping plazas. its soooo overwhelming! i absolutely love this city because its where there is a large need to rescue many many girls from the sex slavery. it’s a place that i’m extremely drawn to and look forward to really praying over while we are here. we are actually heading to the “red light district” tomorrow night to prayer walk the streets where a lot of the sadness happens. anyways, so today we just shopped around (very cheap things!) and tried some new food. much better than the previous month 🙂
tomorrow we booked a little tour which is like less than 10 u.s. dollars per person for our cab driver to take us around from 5am – 6pm. what a deal! we are starting with the floating market that you see in movies, and then going to some elephant show, an alligator pit, a wax museum, and something else. it will make for a really long day and i already have quite the headache from just the craziness today.
i will post TONS of pictures soon (internet is really limited here and expensive)!
just wanted to let you know we are safe and have a pool at our hotel! thank you Lord!
all my love…
